Sanderson, Texas, is a small town in the Texas Big Bend region and is the county seat of Terrell County, Texas. Terrell County is a small, sparsely populated county in the Trans-Pecos region of West Texas.
Sanderson was created in 1882 as a part of neighboring Pecos County. Sanderson is known for being the setting for Cormac McCarthy's novel "No Country for Old Men" and the film adaptation. The county was founded in 1905 and named for Texas State Senator Alexander W. Terrell
